Kitty Kelly's is an old farmhouse situated on the outskirts of the fishing port Town of Killybegs on the very scenic route to the famous Slieve League Cliffs along the Wild Atlantic Way. The restaurant has recently been taken over by award winning chef, Remy Dupuy and his wife Donna. Remy originates from Toulouse, France and arrived in Ireland in 1995 to further his career.
While working in Castlemurray House, Dunkineely in the beautiful Co. Donegal, he met and married local girl, Donna Murphy. They have four boys, two of which are actively involved in the business. Remy has received many awards down through the years ranging from "Best Chef in Donegal" to appearing live on TV alongside renowned chef, Clodagh McKenna. Remy was Head Chef in Castlemurray House for over twenty years winning many food awards prior to purchasing the famous Kitty Kelly's in 2017.
Remy's ethic is to keep everything as local as possible. He handpicks his own ingredients locally from the finest choice on offer and also goes out foraging himself for wild herbs and mushrooms. His love for everything local is also evident in the dining room where all the friendly staff are from the surrounding areas. On arrival Donna and staff will greet you downstairs in the small but cosy wine bar where you can, in french traditional style, have an aperitif before your meal if you so choose. You will then be escorted to your table where fresh homemade bread awaits you.
